This is information in relation to tests that were ordered by the medical team at the Sussex University health centre. This includes blood tests, swabs, urine samples, cervical smears and X-rays/imaging.
Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- using My Health Care Record (via NHS App)
- by phoning us on 01273 249049 and we will tell you what the results are
- as a text message, if you have consented
Some results are received within a day. Others can take up to 3 weeks.
We will not routinely contact you with investigation results if they are normal or in satisfactory limits. We will inform you by text or phone if a result needs to be actioned. Please let us know if you have a change of mobile number.
The reception team can relay the comments about your results, the same as you would see through the NHS app. The receptionists are not trained or qualified to expand on these comments or interpret them for you.
We have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only give out test results to the person they relate to, unless that person has given prior permission for their release.
If your test was arranged by your hospital consultant, please call the hospital. We may not receive these results and they are the responsibility to be actioned by your consultant.
