Self injecting

This information is for patients who currently have testosterone or vitamin B12 injections.

Due to the disruption Covid-19 has brought to general practice we are offering the choice to patients, to self-inject their medication; therefore, a clinician may have advised you that you will need to make preparations, to inject yourself.

In order to do this safely you will need to speak to a clinician in the first instance who will inform you of all the items you require to self-administer and where you can get these from; they will also talk you through the process of self-administering your medication. To aide you in this process there are also some You-tube video you can watch before you do this:

  • Step 1 – Make a telephone consultation with a clinician – Phone 01273 249049.
  • Step 2 – Fill out the consent form.
  • Step 3 – Read the links below and watch the videos provided to help you inject safely and easily.
  • Step 4  – You will only be given one prescription, and you will need to request a repeat prescription each time you are due your medication.
