  • Consent policy

    The purpose of this protocol is to set out the practice’s approach to consent and the way in which the principles of consent will be put into practise.

  • Chaperone policy

    You may request a chaperone when making the appointment or on arrival at the surgery (please let the receptionist know) or at any time during the consultation.

  • Confidentiality

    The personal information you give us will be used in your medical care.

  • Privacy policy/GDPR

    This policy explains how we use any personal information we collect from you via this website and also from records held on our system when you are registered.

  • Freedom of information

    Information about the general practitioners and the practice required for disclosure under this act, can be made available to the public.

  • Zero tolerance policy

    This practice supports the Government’s NHS zero tolerance zone campaign. Violence and abuse is a growing concern. GPs and their staff have the right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused.

  • Patient responsibilities

    Cancellation of appointments, change of address and lateness.

  • Infection Control Statement

    We aim to keep our surgery clean and tidy and offer a safe environment to our patients and staff. We endeavour to keep it clean and well maintained at all times.

  • Named GP

    We assign all new and existing patients with a named accountable GP to oversee their care.

  • Non-NHS work

    Some services are not covered by the NHS. We charge for all such private work.

  • Overseas students

    We follow the guidance laid out on the Government website. Below are the sections relevant to us, as a GP practice.

  • Shared Care Agreements

    Shared care in the NHS is a service where a patient’s care is shared between a specialist and their general practitioner (GP).

  • Gabapentin and Pregabalin

    Gabapentin and Pregabalin are now classified as Schedule 3 controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, and Class C of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

  • Sussex ADHD diagnosis and prescribing policy

    The practice will only prescribe ADHD medication for a patient (under an NHS or UK private consultant psychiatrist) where:

  • Fear of Flying

    Prescribing at this practice of benzodiazepines or sedatives (such as diazepam) to patients for fear of flying will not be carried out. Many other GP practices have a similar policy.

  • IT Policy

    To protect your personal information, our GP surgery follows strict IT security and data protection protocols. Your data is handled in line with GDPR and NHS standards to ensure confidentiality and security.
